INTRODUCTION

Electrics Motor Starting Autotransformers
are specially designed for smooth, reduced voltage, closed transition
starting of large synchronous and squirrel cage motors.
Autotransformers
starting limits motor starting high current demands which would
cause line voltage drops resulting in light dimming and having
damaging effects on voltage sensitive components, magnetic devices
and motors.
Optional
voltages above 600 Volt are available.

the Component Recognition Program of Underwriters' Laboratories,
Inc. File Number E61347(N).

FEATURES

Some Special Advantages
and features of Olsun Electrics Motor Starting Auto Transformers:
1. Taps on the
autotransformer provide selection of 50%, 65% or 80% of line voltage
as a starting voltage. Starting torque will be 24%, 42%
or 64% respectively of line voltage values. However, because
of transformer action, the controller line current will be less
than motor current, being 25%, 42% or 64% of full voltage values.
Thus autotransformer starting may be used to provide maximum torque
available with minimum line current, together with taps to permit
both of these factors to be varied.
2. Rigid Buss
Bar Type Terminals extending from the fact of the coils are welded
to magnet wire windings. Thermal Switch Protection available
for all ratings.
3. START-PAC
and COM-PAC Units are designed and manufactured in accordance
with U.L., NEMA Standards and NEC ratings.
4. OLSUN Motor
Starting Autotransformers are manufactured in two distinct lines:
START-PAC Standard size, available from 7.5HP through 250 HP.
COM-PAC Compact size, available from 15 HP through 800 HP.
The COM-PAC Line has been designed for situations in which space
in an important factor. Through the use of special materials
and close manufacturing tolerances, the average COMP-PAC Unit
is 36% smaller than its START-PAC counterpart
