Recent Projects - MV Dry Type Transformers Prove to be the Answer over Oil Filled Transformers for Entrance into College

Three OLSUN MV Dry Type Transformers were designed and built to the requirements of a large public college to replace three oil filled transformers that provided power to one of their academic buildings. This retrofit project involved very tight dimensions of the existing power rooms and vaults in addition to meeting current energy efficiency standards. Olsun engineers worked very closely with the customer to meet the specifications for these MV Dry Type Transformers. The two pad mounted transformers were installed in outdoor power faults while the one substation transformer was installed in an indoor power room. Because the location was in the Pacific Northwest, where the threat of earthquakes is prevalent, additional safety measures called for seismic bracing.
